Probability - Basics

Probability represents the chance of any event occurring. In this concept, we learn about experimental and theoretical probability, and how to predict the chances of an event based on likelihood. We also cover sample spaces, counting methods, and dependent / independent events.
The concept is broken into smaller topics, which makes it easier and much more fun for students. The topics are listed below:-
Compound Events
This topic deals with the concept of compound events, which is used when determining the probabilities of each part of multiple outcomes.
Counting Methods and Sample Space
This topic covers problem solving applications of probability- using a tree diagram; making an organized list; and using the fundamental principle of counting. Questions related to permutations are also incorporated within.
Experimental Probability
In this topic we will understand the concept of experimental probability, which is used when determining the probabilities of different outcomes obtained in an experiment.
Independent and Dependent Events
This topic covers the probability of independent as well as dependent events. A Dependent event is one whose probability depends on that of a former event.
Making Predictions
In this topic, we will learn to make predictions based on given probability figures (experimental as well as theoretical).
Theoretical Probability
This topic covers events and their theoretical probability ? How to find theoretical probability, and the difference between theoretical and experimental probability.
